Default A great read - well chuffed

Just been skimming through last night's local paper and came across an article about a young lad celebrating his 18th birthday. 18 years ago this week I well remember getting a call that an ambulance needed kitting out with a pediatric ventilator and enough oxygen for a 70 mile emergency transfer. Normally an easy one but the volume of oxygen needed meant the usual configuration wouldn't get a quarter of the way there. The wee lad was so critical that when the oxygen ran out in one cylinder the change over to the next cylinder had to be almost instantaneous - Heath Robinson was needed.

Last night's article is a testament to the success of the clinicians and the fight in the wee lad. But its nice to think even the small contribution of the hospital engineers had some bearing in the outcome.

Can't believe no ones replied to this Bri, I saw it at work but couldn't post a relpy

That's a cool thing you did and I'd be well chuffed if I'd done something like this.

I bet he'd like to shake your hand too
