Not my SV, but rather my Giant XtC Team Edition, hard tail Mountain bike. She has to go on Doctors orders, which does make me a bit sad, but this is a positive step. I gave first refusal to my Brother in Law and then comes you lot, my darling SV forum. If none of you are interested, then I shall be hitting E-Bay soon and hoping for the best.
So here goes. Giant XtC Team Edition Medium frame in team colours. I did think of putting this in the For Sale section, but it stated that non-Motorcycle stuff got put in here. If this is not the case, then do please move it for me. ![]() Sorry for the old pic, she is still shiny but has Hopes front and rear. a Real Suntour XC pro MD chainset with 20-32-42 rings (which took some searching for and is not this current rubbish branded Suntour). Marzocchi Bomber forks and Woodman triple bearing headset. Carbon bars and Titanium seat pin. XT Mechs and Old School DX Thumbies running an 8 speed cluster. Handbuilt, Mavic rims on Shimano and Hope Hubs with DT db spokes. Hyperbolt bolt kit. Time pedals and shoes if you want them too. Viewing is available and test rides are recommended. She is blisteringly fast and blissfully smooth. Technically, she is a blokes frame, but I have adapted her with a girly saddle that is as wide as a Harley's. I have thought of myself as a Mountain Biker since I first caught the bug in 1990, in that time I have raced, toured and built my own bikes. My custom frame is now art on my bedroom wall, but the mountain bike langusishes, loved but not ridden in the hallway. ![]() Funds given in exchange for this bike will be invested in Sylvie, my precious SV. A new exhaust for that deep throaty growl is a must, ever since I heard a lovely one at the Bulldog Bash. |

Location is easy, I am in Weston Super Mare which is in darkest Zummazet!
Price is harder though, the bike cost me two grand, but I built her in 2004, using parts that I sourced by scouring shops looking for the exact bits I wanted. Originally I had intended to build her up Shimano free to make a statement, but nothing works as well as Shimano gears. Doing it this way cost a lot and I rode her for two years before she became a shelf for dust. If I could scrape £600 for I would be over the moon, however in the current climate I think I am going to have to negotiate. What I can get for her will be put towards a new exhaust for Sylvie for when my restriction is up in April... Ooh, I can almost feel the power coming! |

you could try sticking it on retrobike. Theres a bit of money on retro gear. Sorry to hear you're gonna have to give up. I have a y2k sworks build in the garage and also a 98 dbr import. If I had enough wall space i'd be hanging them up too. Good luck with the sale.

I think your gonna struggle to get £600 for it. As pookie said retrobike is the place for that.
