I'm being a bit naughty...

...and I know I probably shouldn't be doing this but I'm really just looking for feedback not selling my wares (although obviously that helps...)

Mods please delete this thread if you deem it unsuitable I won't be offended (and if anyone sees it before it gets deleted then I'm still better off )

I now have a proper website, made from scratch, by me and only me. I am by NO MEANS a techy whizzkid genius but I have huffed, puffed and tantrummed (yes it's not a proper word, TOUGH!) through this site and it's still not finished but it's good enough to show to you fine people and it gets the point across.

Now it is best opened in Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. I don't use Internet Explorer and on testing the site in this browser the site appears a tad disjointed but the links work and you can still read what needs to be read. Here it be www.megghyll.co.uk

Please give me your feedback (constructive OR critical, it's all appreciated).

Cheers SK. I was going to go for some Javascript stuff but to be bluntly honest, I've had enough of this website stuff for now so can come back to that at a later date when I've recovered. How folks do this for a living I'll never know!

It just so happens that I am looking in to learning HTML and then java.

What way did you go about it?

You're not derailing, I hope to learn things from people in the know too I cheated and used Kompozer, one of those WYSIWYG programs. I'm more visual than techy, I like to see where I put things etc so Kompozer worked great for me. There are other programs though.

I was talking about the general design, choice of font etc rather than the technology involved. Javascript is mostly unnecessary in most cases, dont add stuff just for the sake of it.

Me, I do my sites in Notepad (when I can be bothered) but WYSIWYG is perfectly acceptable in this case I think.

I am only thankful that the Internet seems to have lost my first attempts at website design

much better lol-i find that the artists work is what sells their skills, the words don't matter,the art does

Ah regarding fonts, I had one I would have loved to use (the same as the name in the title banner) but it was only available in Ubuntu and wasn't recognized by much else. I used Comic Sans as it comes across as an "informal" font to me.
