hi all, new to the site but have been maintaining my GFs Carb'd SV650 for a few years now, the engine is a little tired and whilst looking for a replacement came across a deal on some Gladius parts, engine, wiring, and some of the fairing. i purchased them all as a job lot but now am at a bit of a quandary as to what to do, do i try to put the engine plus wiring into the old sv (some older posts seem to suggest that this is possible) or do i search for a gladius or newer sv frame and put it all into that? ive posted on the wanted forum for a frame but not holding much hope, at least for a gladius one but the newer sv chassis might be an option.
any advice would be appreciated. cheers steve |

I think it should bolt into the old frame OK, but you may need to modify the loom and other bits from the Gladys to make it all fit. Sounds like a jolly interesting project and I am sure that some of the more qualified folks can advise you better.
Oh by the way, I seem to recall that the Gladys frame is a manky steel affair, the SV frame is prettier and even more so when highly polished. ![]() |
