Default MK2 Golf GTi , power steering, £500 ono

Selling for a mate, he's got a white mk2 golf 1.8 Gti with power steering and electric windows. Seems cheap seeing as they're semi sought after by v-dub heads, would buy it myself for getting to work in the snow but I have too many vehicles at present

Won't bother putting pictures up unless anyone's interested - just thought I'd post on the off chance someone likes them / needs a run around

golf gti2.jpg

golf gti.jpg

starmags.jpg

1.8gti 8valve tax until december this year, MOT until july 2012

FK coilovers 11months old
Magnex stainless steel exhaust system (front flexi pipe is blowing slightly but is drivable as i've used it for a couple of months now)
All new Bosche discs, pads brake hoses and flexi pipes in July
New suspension bushes and CV joint in July
Big bumpers fitted by previous owner
ON STEEL WHEELS WITH LEGAL TYRES, AS STARMAG ALLOYS ARE FOR SALE SEPERATLY AND ADVERTISED ELSE WHERE (13x7j mini fitment but fit golf perfectly as shown!)
has a cd player and wiring for a sub (power cables, remote cable and rca cable hidden under carpet)
black carpets, black roof lining and rare interior with rear headrests, no wear or burns in great condition
new 8v gti clocks showing mileage just over 136,000, true mileage is just over 170000 as the old clocks would not light up, exact mileage was written down so can be worked out, i do use the car so it will rise still. old clocks are included. in the sale
has PAS but the belt could do with being replaced as it squeeks a bit, around £4 from andrew pages
has electric windows but the passanger motor needs replacing, if you look on edition38.com they arent too expensive second hand or new
central locking locks both doors, boot and petrol cap and works fine when the drivers door is locked, never had any problems with it.
has a solid sunroof with no leaks
does have surface rust at bottom of passanger door, slight bit around boot lock and back rear panel that has been treated by previous owner, nothing major given the price of the car and its structurally sound but would like to make any buyer aware now.

It's a decent car from a genuine seller, the guys not had any problems with this for aslong as he's had it (atleast a year) and has used it daily. He's an enthusiast (had quite a few golfs) so has spent far more on it than economically sensible. I'd have no quibbles buying it, and at £800 (on the steel wheels) I think it's well priced. There aren't many cheap runabouts you can get that are actually a decent car (ok I like mk2s), have power steering and are reliable - not really the same as ebay lottery

It does look good with the starmags on too - I asked him to send me decent pictures
I was after those arty shots scenester types that like quirky cars and are doing a photography course take.

Wish I had the room for this, my mk2 didn't have power steering and with 205's all round and a small momo steering wheel it was hard on the forearms.
