I find myself in the position of needing to find a new bike to commute on. Near the top of the list is an SV650. This raises two questions:
1) Can I find a decent one for two grand or so 2) Can I bring myself to own another SV? Oh, and... 3) Would I rather have a KTM LC4 640 Supermoto 4) What about something like a DRZ400SM 5) Should I be more annoyed that the KTM disappeared from outside Great Ormond Street hospital this evening while I was visiting a patient It's a rum do and no mistake.

Define decent
there's a k3 on the forum at the mo for £1900...and there are definitely cheaper out there. You could get a newer one for around £2k. I'd also be tempted by a DRZ no idea on pricingdings

Only real problem with the DRZ is it's about 20bhp down on the KTM, so it'd feel a bit gutless. And it's built with cheap parts so it'd feel relatively manky to ride.

Could you live with a yellow one?
Linky Thing They're supposedly more fun to ride as they have a tendencey to crash, which you have to control. ![]() |

Crisis averted - the KTM was found at 3am and I picked it up from Islington nick this morning.
Now I just need to fix it - much as I enjoy using a screwdriver as a key, I'm not sure it does much for security.

Glad you got it back. Was it disk locked or anything when the little gits nicked it?

Got an estimate for parts and labour to fix the non-cosmetic bits. Thick end of 400 quid. And it's overdue for a fairly major service, which is another 350. Still, it's only money...

I'm coming to terms with the almost-loss.
Just had to add handlebars to the list of parts that need replacing. I'm dreading the final bill in a few days.

Doesn't sound like it'll make a lot of difference. Result on getting it back.
