Default Hypertheoretical question for the bleeding heart liberals

Hypertheoretical question for the bleeding heart liberals.

Suppose a Jordanian military transport was to make an unscheduled stop in the UK and 30 mins later leave with an additional passenger.

One that the UK didn't want. Jordan wanted.

Would it matter? who would care?

What sanction would there be against the UK if Jordan was to take back one of there own?

I thought so. Why don't they just get on with it!

You don't have to be bleeding heart liberal to agree that one or two people should still be here

There are any number of accidents that could happen too. Just throwing that into the mix!

I will qualify my statement just one bit though (well, I would, wouldn't I?)

The man I think you are alluding to was freed (on strict bail conditions) because of the laws uphold. The law we uphold is that no-one shall be held against their will without due cause(or some such wording). That is a law which is vitally important to all of our well being and is a critical aspect of our civilised society. Without it there could be the extreme or anyone, just ANYONE, being held in prison because the ruling powers don't like what they say. I do believe that we have to iphold this, and similar laws.

At the same time as understanding that indivinual circumstance have to taken into account. I think there were plenty of exceptional conditions in this case for us to be able to say that we complied with all laws as we should have done but something has gone awry

Actually I agree nobody should be detained unduly without having had their day in court. As far as I understand this individual has committed enough crimes against UK that would have justified his incarceration. However, charging and appropriate sentence would have hampered or impeded the real intention of taking him off the street which is to get him out of this country.

I like the idea of the european court of Human Rights. However, i think national law should superceed the ECHR in matters of national security

I agree with messie generally speaking, but given immunity from prosecution I would stick a bullet in his head, and sleep easy without any guilt at all. Now where do apply?

If this turbulent priest has committed so many crimes charge him try him find him guilty and lock him up for a very long time.If that cant be done let him go.He has now been in prison for about six years without trial. That is not acceptable in a country that calls itself a democracy.

The very thing Tim posted I said to the boss this morning. But I totally agree with Messie's sentiments.

However, just who's laws would we be breaking if he was handed over? It wouldn't be UK law. And, in effect, who is to blame for his prolonged incarceration? Again, not the UK.

I like the idea of an independant judiciary and I think the Supreme Court Judge doesn't deserve the criticism leveled at him. He is only upholding the European law we signed up to.
