Default Havn't riden since this...

Not been able to ride since a nurse at my local gp surgery did this to my arm taking blood.

I have a blood test every two weeks at the moment to monitor medication I'm taking. In all but this case I've never felt a thing and never been left with more than a tiny red dot on the skin.
Anyone else had similar after blood test or donating blood? I wouldn't mind accept that as I said, I,ve not been on the bike since 1st feb due to a proper dead arm.

That does not look nice.
Yes back in the 70s & 80s I used to have liver function tests every 2 weeks (work not the drink), nurse did that to me, quite painful as well. She had gone though the vein on both sides I was told, as in waggled from side to side. Got to say probably had several hundred bloods but only happened the once.

That's good to know. I'll be having tests every two weeks for the next few months at least.

Jeez. I've had bad bruising before, but not as bad as that. And it didn't make my arm numb, just a bit sore.

The more it hurts when the needle is in, the more bruising I get. They sometimes reposition it if it is uncomfortable

Omg that's awful! I've had bloods done a lot recently and had a bad one once, about half the size of that. I wonder if it's because you're unwell?

Yes, a mate of mine had a similar experience after giving blood.

Think he tried to sue them, but I'm not sure he won or got very far with his case.

Unlikely I reckon. The medication is to treat psoriasis so no underlying health condition. Plus. It can't be reaction to the medication itself because the bloods are in preparation for starting a new treatment (suitability, healthy liver & kidney etc) so when this was done I hadn't started taking it yet.
My opinion is that the nurse was as cack handed as a pig with a musket

Jeez I bruise usually after having bloods taken, but only a tiny one in the local area....I've had rather a lot too!

The only person I've seen to bruise quite alarmingly is my dad, but then hes on alsorts of drugs, and he bruises easily due to it.

How long has the bruising been there?

If it was a bruise from having a rugby tackle or something, I'd recommend arnica cream to bring it down quicker...but I certainly would be a bit hesitant because of how that one came about.....poor you, Sh1te nurse!

Its been there since the 1st feb now. Came up within hours. TBH the bruising looks bad but the thing that is really bothering me is the continued pain and limited range of movement. I'm going back to the surgery on monday to follow it up. can't be right after ten days.
Out of several blood tests in recent weeks this is the only time it has happened so I know what the normal outcome should be, and I know I'm not 'prone' to this sort of thing. I'm not one of these people who bruise like a peach (bless).
