Hi,
I know nothing of the exhaust systems for bikes, though I am learning. I want a new can for my SV, and without buying a specified kit for an SV what do I need to buy. If I bought something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...#ht_500wt_1202 what else would I need to get it on? And are there any reasons why it would cause any running problems? Cheers in advance lads n lass's |

That one is no good.It has a three bolt fix,and for the sv you need a slip on and link pipe. The sv exhaust is all in one piece from the collecter box back,so it has to be cut just by the rear swingarm and a link pipe and can added. Its no big deal, but you need the right bits.

That's not the easiestway to change your can.
You need a slip on can with a 52mm link pipe Some thing like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-SV6...ht_1751wt_1110 Cut your exhaust just below the original can and re attach using the link pipe supplied.

Cheers for the answers guys.
So essentially I can use any can as long as its a slip on? All I need then is a hanger (if it doesnt come with one) and a link pipe. Are the link pipes model specific or can they be used universally? Annnnnnnnd does the inlet diameter of the can matter? Thanks again folks Last edited by Paris2; 18-02-12 at 07:19 PM. |

Usually model specific Most end can pipes are 52mm and the link pipes are matched to the inlet pipe of the can.
