Hi,
Just wondering if anyone around the Newcastle area would be able to help me out with my bike? It's been in the garage for a year and a half and the brakes feel like they're siezed, it needs new mirrors put on and a new screen too. The battery is flat too and I've lost my charger. I'm useless at any of this stuff and I have no one to help me with it. I'd pay anyone who helped me out with it for their time. I live in Jesmond by the way. Thanks. Kat. |

Pointy or curvy ?
I'm in Manchester so cant offer too much help in the way of brakes etc, but I have a curvy screen you can have if you need it ![]() Mirrors can be had off the bits for sale section on here or fleabay - easy to put on with a screwdriver . Are you sure there is air in the tyres to the correct pressure ? Often if the tyres are deflated (though they wont look like it ..) it can feel like brakes binding when you are trying to push it around Let me know if you need the screen Good Luck ! |

Have you got the mirrors and screen, have you got the seat off to get at the battery.

Don't get down about it, it's only bits of metal.
The brakes are probably seized and need a rebuild. It's a couple of hours... Some car chargers are a bit chunky for bike batteries, it depends on the charger, many are fine. But if it's been stood 18 months the battery is probably knackered. Try connect the charger with the battery on the bike, you should get lights and stuff then though it probably won't start. That will rule out any more serious electrical issue... but even if not the wiring on these is very simple.

Before I tried to charge it, the lights would come on. Afterwards, they wouldn't....

It would be very unusual to destroy a battery like that. Are you sure it's back in right? Are you sure you haven't disturbed the earth wire that piggybacks onto the negative cable?
