So i'm currently fitting some HEL braided lines to my 03 SV650S, the two line 'race' set up. The problem i'm having is routing them, i've tried routing them behind the fork legs but then the left line rubs on the stanchion and the right on the mudguard. If I route the lines in front of the fork legs then both lines rub on the legs. Got an mot coming up soon so I want them to be correct so it doesn't fail its test. Has anyone else fitted these lines to their SV? If so, any tips or advice on routing?

They are a bit of a pain. I used a couple of rubber lined pipe clips mounted under the bottom yoke, and also some nifty alloy clamps that clamped the two lines together. Took me a while to route them so they weren't too twisted and didn't rub. I don't think I could have made as as neat without the extra clamps.
The Venhill lines are a lot easier to fit IME, since the banjos are separate so you can remove or introduce twist into the pipes to get the routing perfect. |

Pipe clips could be an idea, how did you mount them to the yoke?
Fitted the rear line as well and, like the front lines, it seems about 1 inch longer than it needs to be, sigh. |

In fact, here's some pics. First one is trying them in front of the fork legs. Then behind; you can see the results. The last are a few pics of the rear line, not as problematic as the front lines but still bugs me a bit...
The third line is the speedo drive line but I'll tie-wrap that to follow the left line when I eventually get it sorted out. Tried tie-wrapping the brake lines together as they come down from the master cylinder but it didn't have much effect. ![]() |

Where have the original clips gone that attach on here...
![]() From there I just zip tied them together / to the speedo cable to follow up to the m/c |

That's where the little junction clips on for the stock lines to send a brake line over the mudguard to the left caliper.
There is however a clip on the left side where the speedo cable is which I've used but the left brake line still rubs on the fork stanchion. |

Are the lines rubbing against the fork that much of a problem? They're stainless steel coated in plastic so as long as they're not getting trapped or kinked then it isn't really an issue is it? |

You mean by having the lines go around the front of the fork legs? I thought brake lines rubbing on forks was an mot failure? |

the rear line is wrong. it should come off the MC at the top you have it pointing down.
