Default Keeping folk from messing about on your bike.

...short of printing and laminating one of these

What interesting and imaginative ways can you think of to deter (in my case) Japanese tourists from jumping on my bike and having photos taken on it....might be the done thing in their country but I don't find it so entertaining....especially when where I park it at work is a wee bit precarious and despite it being parked in gear wobbling over from some overexcited posing imbecile is not a risk I like to take...

So come on, blow my mind away with your creative vibes

I know Roberrrrt stuck a thread up a few month back about people sabotaging bikes when you're not around but I'm more on about folk just jumping on for kicks. I'm fortunate in that I can keep an eye on the bike most of the day but just for fun, humour me

PS. Mods, feel free to move this to IB, it started off in my mind a serious thread but I realise things could get out of hand/off tangent and topic, particularly if Joe (or Reeder, can't leave him out!) becomes involved

Hazard tape a zone off around the bike and leave a polite notice saying the bike has a fault and could explode at anytime. Please keep outside the cordon specialists are on route to fix it.

Either that or make the bike live from the mains in your work

Or a crappy rain cover with nasty slogans written on it. Like " The voices tell me to burn people"

think Triumph had it right back in the days of the T3 speed triple.

That looks like the bike is guarding the dog. I wanted one of those triples so badly, but I was still on L plates and absolutely penniless at the time.

So MissyBurdYC, I guess you need to get a Speed Triple to guard your bike.

I assume your office has a window, and I know your BF likes his air rifles.

I park my bike outside where i work and have 2 very big door staff that keep an eye on it. No one tends to go near it.

A mate of mine used to just take the seat off and take it into the office with him. It obviously depends on the bike of course, and it you leave/store anything under the seat....

An alternative is a piece of wire with a loop in each end, one end is looped around the grab rail and the other end around the headstock, fastened with a padlock. Do hang a ribbon, or sign, from the middle though otherwise they tend not to see it until they sling their leg over......

Buy a cheap cover. And write a short but polite message for the Japanese tourists upon it.

i.e YOU TOUCH BIKE, ME CHOP YERROW BORROCKS OFF.
