If you don't mind travelling, ECS in East Kilbride never fail anybody for anything as far as I can tell. Rev engine, beep horn, talk bikes, issue certificate.

If you genuinely want a second opinion, our very own Schmoo of Mark's Garage is honest as the day is long.

Thanks but I've been talking to several people on the thread that I linked and it sounds like its a genuine problem. I also had the head mechanic have a look at it and he agreed it wouldn't pass. So I'd rather pay 160 and know that the bike is safe.

next year have a ride through to Cupar and use Motatest. Ride in no need to book and very thorough but only a test centre so they have no reason to fail for "extra repairs"
