Default Battery brand names?

I'm looking for a new battery for my Vmax. I am presented with approximately 300,009,478 different brands from China under £50. Are there any I should go for in particular? Brand-wise, I have selected:

Numax - £40 12V, 16Ah, 120CCA
Dynavolt - £40 12V, 16Ah, 120CCA
Varta - £42 12V, 16Ah, 120CCA
MotoBatt QuadFlex - £56 12V, 20.5Ah, 230CCA

Is it worth going for the latter? How significant is that? Anybody familiar with the cheaper 3 brands?

Varta and Yuasa are the big boys really.

Don't forget the Chinese are f***ing liars when it comes to battery Ah ratings etc. More chance of a diet beef chow mein with a portion of ribs...

Contact MDS batteries, IMO. I've found their service absolutely sh*t hot and they give a decent .org discount.

120CCA won't pull the skin off a rice pudding I'm afraid. I'd suggest CCA is more important than AH.

The Yuasa "YTZ" range has around the highest CCA figures, some others are up in the same league but you need to check the actual battery model not just the make.

There's a member on here who has a battery business and will do decent units at good prices by all accounts, try Batteryman (MDS batteries I believe).
Edit - oops, didn't spot the ref in YC's post!

MotoBatt QuadFlex every time, better built last longer and will keep a charge longer when left for months over winter, have had 2 on my vfr,1st one changed for free after the reg/rec started putting to much voltage in the battery 24/36 volts!!!,the battery never stopped working but it looked like some one had pumped it up with a air line but the shop didn't know this and replaced it for me

Yuasa, Bosch, Varta, Furukawa, Mototbatt. They're all available at quite reasonable prices without looking that hard, So don't buy anything else, there's an awful lot of rubbish to be had even from brand names that were big not so many years ago.

A number of the batteries that come in under the Rob Hunter brand are fine - but it's a lottery so I wouldn't.

Thanks guys, I went for the Motobatt. Extra ~£15 but seems to prove some legit extras.
