Default Curvy side panels vents?

Does anyone know if the little panels under the seat need to have the vents or could i make a replacement without like the pointys have. I'm interested in having ago at using something like this to make replacements and if it works possibly a few other small pieces

The ones on my bike are fine but i was thinking of trying to make up some carbon fibre ones, i reckon it wouldn't be to hard if i didn't need the vents. I could do with an extra set though to use for making a mould. I'd need to fill the vents in before moulding to get the right shape so would probably ruin mine.

There is nothing behind them that needs cooling, so you should be ok not putting the vents in. I think it is more for show than anything else

This is true. The only things behind those covers are your seat bolts, and your battery. I'd say go for it, really like to see how she goes!

If you've got a spare set that'd be great. Let me know if you can find them otherwise i'll just keep an eye on ebay or somewhere to get a spare set to work with
