Default TL1000s Clean Up

Etup folks, as some of you may have read i bought a TL a month or so back, There were a couple cracks in the fairings etc and it was just in need of a general tidy and service. Up to press ive serviced it and started cleaning the plastics up including filling the cracks etc so i thought id upload a couple pics of before and after to see what the mighty .ORG think. The paint isnt as good as idve hoped for, if you look up close you can tell that its a rattle can job but itll do for me, not a big fan of cleaning anyway so its a good excuse to leave it filthy .

A few pics as of when i first bought her

The fuel pump seal was leaking.. I wonder why??

Then a few pics of the plastics getting repaired, not sure how it will hold up but only time will tell

I melted into the back of the cracks to give the epoxy somewhere to grip to

Then sanded to bare plastic on the front of the crack, used the soldering iron to melt it all together as much as possible without going too barmy on it and going through or melting too much plastic

This is the resin i used, found at a local motor shop.

Last of all is the plastics ive done so far which just require lacquer

Apologies for the pics, they were taken in the 'stickering' room.. also known as my bedroom which is a bit of a mess now and in need of a new carpet because i got a bit giddy when it was too cold out so sanded and filled the fairings in there which mummy isnt too happy about.

Feel free to let me know what you think

Cheers,
Danny

Nope, im afraid not mr robert, its still in the garage just now with no insurance or tax, i dont want to get either till its finished or id be too tempted to just whack it all back together and ride round miss matched for the rest of the year and then probably loose interest in finishing it off.
