Friendly Cardiff Orgers, I need your help. My problem: I have no space or area in which to work on my bike and need to do some stuff (change shock, fit lights, change brake pads/speed sensor).
Looking for any help, possibly a nice garage somewhere if anyone's willing! You'll have the joy of helping me (there's a pint and a packet of crisps in it for you) and I'm also happy to lend a spare pair of hands if anyone wants any work done. I might learn a thing or two ![]() So if anyone up for this or can suggest something, would be happy to hear from you. P.s. A long, long time ago, I remember reading somewhere about bikers lending their garage and tools/expertise to other bikers for a small fee. It would be so great to have something like this in South Wales. |

When and for how long would you need it?

1. Remove damper rod to get them sent off in prep for fitting Debrix emulators; 2. Fit rear shock which requires the rear to be supported from the subframe (Or if someone would like to enlighten me on this?); 3. Diagnose why my speedo isn't working (the rotor is in good condition so the mystery continues); 4. Find out why my rear indicators are doing the opposite of what they should.. The when could be next week as I'm off on leave. The how long is a question mark, but obviously I would not take the p*ss. Would be happy just to get suspension sorted. On a plus note, what a great day for riding hey? Hope you all got out and had a good time. |

I'm off on Thursday if that's of any use to you.
Please note my garage is small, dirty, plenty of junk, and badly lit (no power). That said, I took my CB500's rear end apart in there, and fitted lowers and a Scottoiler to my SV in there. I also don't know what tools you'll need for any of that work. I have the usual set of stuff- toolbox with screwdrivers and allen keys and the other stuff you'd find (wrenches, pliers), I also have a small socket set and a torque wrench. I don't have any paddock stands, though I do have some bricks if you're feeling brave and fancy building yourself something. I especially don't know how you'd hold the rear end up to do the rear shock. You think you'd be done the same day? That would be most convenient. |

Thanks for the offer, I'll get back to you on that. Definitely won't get that all done and don't expect to. Only rear shock would be possible cause I would have to store the bike if I took out the Damper. But I'd need to get the rear up somehow and wouldn't be confident to use such an 'innovative' solution to support the bike
