Hi, this is my first post. I've recently bought an SV650S K2, 2002.
I believe it's an import (odometer in Km/h), the chassis number starts JS1AV121300. Can anyone shed any light about where it could have come from AK |

Hi and welcome. Cant help with where it has come from, but this is the list of numbers that haynes quote in their manual. Yours doesn't appear to match the sv650s - k2. So hopefully someone more knowledgable than me can pin point it for you.

Thanks dkid. The vin plate on the frame has bits written in German and bits in French. The headlights passed MOT in NI. I'm curious more than anything

Anyone got a full scan of the Haynes manual printout of this? Trying to date my race bike. Frame number on mine is js1av111200107263. Have a feeling it is 2002, but not sure.

Not sure if this is the right part of the forum, but will try anyway, The bike I have previously mentioned, I bought without a V5. It was originally registered in the UK, but then went over to the isle of man (Not sure if it was re registered on the island or not). Once there, it was converted into a race machine for Minitwins. It has now returned to the UK, but minus any documentation or reg number. The folks I bought it off, I do trust, no worries there, but I do want to be able to get a V5 for it so as to avoid any unpleasantness with plod in the event of it being inspected at a track. They are looking to see if there are any papers still with them, but have just moved, and this may be impossible.
I have approached the DVLA, who seem to be suggesting that I have to now Import the vehicle into the country... A long winded and complicated process that does not seem to be taking into account the bike is a race bike and as such I cannot ride it on the road for MOT purposes as required etc... Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. I ask here as my last question was answered so precisley and quickly by a member who appears to have information resources available to them as a motorcycle dealer, and may know exactly what to do in this instance. |
