Hi Guys
I have noticed an exhaust leak coming from where the standard can has been cut and a Remus end can has been fitted. The Remus can has a tightening bot that squeezes it around where the original pipe has been cut which is as tight as it can go. I still have some movement from the can at the other join (which I assume) is OK since it is spring loaded. I have taken the exhaust off and checked for any residue or a trace of a gasket of sorts but there is nothing. I guess it has always been leaking but I have only just noticed (only had the bike a few months). Wondering if anyone can recommend a brand of exhaust sealant that I could use to put between the contact points? Cheers Rob |

generally a sealent should be used for this join, and if the right diameter pipework is used a small amount of silicone will do or if you want something a bit better heat resistant silicone is available such as this, failing that is the gap is a little to wide, then something like this should do.

Can second that - I had exactly the same issue and a quick application of exhaust joint paste picked up from the local car accessories shop for about four quid sorted it straight away.
Still need to pick up a new bracket for the join though as I broke the rusty old one getting it off and a replacement one from eBay was much too small... |
