Default Continental Conti-motion tyres

I recently needed new tyres, my usual Continental Road Attacks were sadly out of my price range, I looked into getting some Pirelli Angels, but again when it came to crunch time I could not afford the price.

So with tyres pushing the legal limit, I popped into my local garage and asked for advice. The following day I was riding around on a brand new pair of Conti-motions.

Front tyre is a 120/70 and the rear is 160/60.

Initial feel was very sure footed, however my last tyres were badly worn so comparing them was entirely fair. With in minutes I was feeling happy and enjoying the ride. Then it rained. Brand new tyres on wet roads still felt good and confident.

So far I have enjoyed about five hundred miles of sure footed fun, including some motorway journeys and I can report that the tyres feel lovely. Negative comments are only this, when I had the tyres fitted, I required a lot of wheel weights on my front wheel.

How are you getting on with these tyres? Looking to get a set in a month or so.

Hi there, the tyres are performing very well, grip is as good as ever even when it has hammered down with rain, it sounds really lame, but I am still finding out just how far you can go with these tyres.

A friend of mine has a set on his z1000 and he is just as impressed as I am. Damn good rubber as far as I am concerned, well recommended.

My main worry was wet weather performance as I haven't got any confidence in the D220s as they are pretty worn. I can get a set for £179 fitted to loose wheels. These were my second choice as Maxis won't be releasing a Diamond in 120/60/17.
