Default I got £1950 back from HMRC!

Imagine how I felt with such a nice tax repayment! Oooooo, 2 grand to spend on toys. Might put it it all into a new motorbike fund .... And then I paid the credit card bill, the annual water bill, the council tax, the car tax, paid for my girlfriend's dental treatment, and renewed the TV license. Once all that was done, I had enough for a stick of gum and 10 Marlboro.

Somehow it feels a little unfair ...

All my tax repayments come from the years when I was a student, or had just started a new job. So they were bending me over and taking me on my full tax rate, even though I only worked for a short time. You honest folk, who weren't student scum recently probably won't see anything. Not that I did anyway. In it went, out it went.

Ah right, every time I ended a job while a student I wrote to HMRC asking for my tax back. They were always very helpful and sent me a cheque.

But I still want another cheque!

Yeah. Funny how they get to skim money off the top of money they shouldn't have skimmed off the top in the first place. But yeah, at least it paid some bills and kept me in the black.
