Got a journey to make tomorrow to Kilbirnie.
Google maps says the M74 finishes at the M8 junction 21, Mapsourse shows it not going that far and having to join the M8 (via the M73) at junction 8. I'm going in the car so its boring motorway for me. What light can you shed on this. Thanks in advance

How up to date are the mapsource files? The M74 extension opened last June and meets up with the M8 at J21. Prior to that you had to go M73.

On this PC the mapsource files are 2010. With hindsight I should have sparked up the lappy as that's got this years on. The garmin has 2011 maps so didn't change the route when I uploaded it.
Thanks Very Much.

if I can add my 2p worth.
There are major works on White Cart Viaduct (just west of Glasgow airport) It could well be busy. Try the route J6 on M74, go round East Kilbride and head Paisley/Johnstone way to Kilbirnie This reverse route is a 'no brainer' on way back. When you see the diversion routes, you will see why. it's all a bit weird. you keep right at junction 22 to join the M8 as far as google maps is concerned.
