Default Street Triple rectifier dead, can i pinch off SV to get it going?

Street Triple rectifier dead, can i pinch off SV to get it going?

I got a rectifier on the SV which is an aftermarket part, providing it's wired correctly, what is stopping me from putting the sv one onto the triple?

well you could and I'm sure it would work, of course you'd need to change the plugs on the ends, but giving the suspect nature of the SV part (going by the number of posts on the subject), why not something from another bike

Cheers Mark

funnily enough I commented on a thread earlier about the quality of their parts, it seems they are not quite as good as they were a few years ago, I've not worked on many of the "675" variety so far but the formally excellent standerd they had seems to be no better than anyone elses these days.

Cheers Mark.

Embarrasing story

Bloke came to buy the bike and i said that there's a new battery on it but it's still struggling to start because my dad left the headlights on for an hour earlier. Actually got it going with jumper pack and the thing was stuck at 10.8v because the bloke checked it. He was like great bike and i will have it once you fix the rectiifer because his other halfs triple had the same fault. Triumph seem to be struggling with the rectifiers like the SV. They are cracking bikes really nice.

Triumph are apparently doing these ( + battery if needed ) even when bikes are well out of warranty.
Worth a punt?
What year's the bike & is it still dealer serviced?

09 and not been dealer serviced. Phoned Fowlers and they weren't interested. And for the hassle of driving back and for to cardiff i would rather pay £45 and fit it myself. I hate all main dealers whether they be car or bike. Really hate.
