Default KTM Duke 125/200

Looking at these...talk me out of it.
I'm not bothered about power..get my thrills on track. New 200 is 25hp and can handle 160 profile rears.

Don't know why but they are drawing me in.

P.s I'm half cut and that's the only reason I've admitted to liking a 125 as a legitimate road bike!

You can rag a 125 to within an inch of its life everywhere

There is a 350 meant to be on the way.

I'd get the 200 as its a viable road licence loser

Yeah I saw there's a 350 and originally I was like ahhh that's a good amount of power but then thought well they already do a 690 which then defeats the object of getting a low cc bike!!

One question, why ?

Is it April 1st again?

A 125 may be raggable, but still massively under powered for the road, off road would be ok.

He presumed that you are restricted to 33bhp. The law that governs licences will be changed in the EU, implementing a tiered licence. The second lowest tier is up to 45bhp (the next one is 94 or 95bhp - can't remember - and the last one is no restriction).

I do believe the 200 is a real ace looking bike, but I am personally holding up for the 350. The 200 is simply too low powered for m-way work and will be downright dangerous for that sort of thing. Plus, the 350 will have quality ABS, which is a huge plus for me.

I'd say hold out for the 350, but, obviously, that is just me

a with a 350 engine and a nice can and this would be great, I love the look of it, and that swing arm is sweet.

You should wait and see how much they want for the 350.

I'd wager a bet that, since the Duke 200 is 4k quid brand new (source : http://www.ktm.com/gb/naked-bike/200-duke.html) and the Duke 690 is 6.6k quid brand new (source : http://www.ktm.com/gb/naked-bike/690-duke-ausuk.html), than by linearly interpolating, the 350 should be ~4.8k quid. Or, since it's going to have better components than the 200, probably more like 5k.
If it comes with WP suspension and Brembo brakes (as the 200&690 do) and a bit better chassis than the 200, maybe on par with the 690, I'd say you can expect it to be around 5k.

What really jolts my juices is that the 200 is 125kg dry and the 690 is 150kg dry. So the 350 will likely be around 135kg dry (so around 155kg wet). That's with 45bhp, good handling and probably around 70mpg!!

I feel like this bike will really hit the newbie market and anyone who rides in the city will want one like it. Happy times!
