Default Returning a lemon bike?

Any one know how long you can have a used bike from a dealer that if it gives up you can return it for a refund.
I Did put a deposit on it using a Barclays C card.iI think it might help ?

Were there any known faults when you bought it, or warranty work that may have caused the failure?
I think if you're outside any warranty period you'll struggle to get anywhere though.
What's happened to it?

Sale of goods act says they have to put it right if it's not fit for purpose within 90 days regardless of what a warrenty says. I used this successfully a few years ago when the Hydro-elastic suspension failed on a Metro I bought for the missus. The right to return it is a lot more difficult.

as above, although you might get your money back via small claims court, under Sale of Goods act.

Tricky one, depends on the dealer and how good they are?

Fingers crossed they sort it.
It is the bike I want in the right color etc.
But don't want to take it on the chin if it won't be reliable . Not 30days yet so sitting tight .

I took mine back they replaced it with a newer model with a higher spec for a fraction of what it would have cost me to buy it After trying to fix it and failing twice, you have to give them the chance to fix it, if they can't money back.

Yep will do ,But there being a bit "Off" as i asked on the forum some advise in-case any one else had the issue.
They want the original cans on it but its not easy to travel to the shop after work as there closed don't fancy leaving them by the door.

That sounds a bit like they're clutching at straws already.

Good luck. Don't forget that any bike can break down and it's very possibly a common fault or one that could happen at any time.

And said we best give it back to you do fix....
Not friendly and not confidence building .
No update as how its progressing.
