Ok so i really wasnt sure where to post this so apologies if its in the wrong place.
I am really wanting to take some time out and tour the entire coast, or as much as possible of the coastal roads of England, Scotland and Wales all on one route. Starting from the south east coast (near Brighton) and riding anti clockwise up through east anglia, northeast england, as much as is possible of scotland riding from the south east anticlockwise, then down the north west of england, entering north wales and riding down the coast, then the south west coasts of england and finally the south stretch back to brighton. now my time frame isnt an issue or money, its the actual route itself im having trouble with, im not very learned on the coastal roads so have no idea whats best and what links to where, so does anyone know of any routes already mapped or even some region to region feedback would be awesome, i have Tyre so would also be cool if anyone knew of a tyre route already mapped. any input would be awesome and obviously could build a route for future travellers to use ![]() cheers guys n gals ![]() |

Just how close to the coast do you want to follow, i.e. do you really want to go through urban towns ?.

Here's the best bits of what I know, D&G avoiding A75 and up the coast and across on the ferry at Gourock. Recommend hostel at Stromeferry.

Thats a long journey, I've been putting a plan together to do just the scottish coast and border and thats looking like a good week of riding.
The uk coast is about 12000 miles assuming the roads stay a wee bit inland i would guess you are still looking at 6000 miles. No doubt someone will be along to correct me soon |

Here is the North East coast. It skirts the built up areas, some of which are very nice but not for bikes and scenery.
http://g.co/maps/bzrkx I'll put in some placemarks with poi's later.

When you get to the west coast of Scotland I would highly recommend getting the ferry from Stranraer to Belfast and doing the costal route of Northern Ireland, you have some cracking roads there that take you to the NW200 road racing route, Giants Causway and stunning views, won't add too much time or money.
