Default K&N Filter with restrictor?

Hi all

Looking at getting a K&N/Pipercross drop in air filter but I've heard that it causes fuelling issues when a restrictor kit is fitted? (02 reg curvy, restricted via washers).

Any truth in this?

Cheers
Dan

Not heard of any issues myself. I have a k&n fitted to mine and it didn't effect the fuel mix. I did have to tweak my idle slightly though! I have an. Aftermarket end can on mine too.

Above said but I didn't have the washers on. You will be able to tell from the sound if you have mixing issues

Sorry for my ignorance but why would you want to put an uprated filter in a bike which is restriced? Surley it will not do anything anyway becasue of the restriction? Is it a better sound you are after?

i used one because they're washable, so you don't have to keep buying new filters, just wash the current one

I have a K&N filter on my 99 curvy and it improved it! the low and mid range pull was noticeably better and smoother.

They're a far better economy than a standard filter.
Iirc k & n is £40, £10 for a wash kit. Will last for many cleans.
Standard filter £25, reccomended changed every 10k?

Yeh its something like that, eBay prices are £30 for a K&N and £17 for a standard, standard just isn't worth it
