Stupid wind! Crashed - SV650.org

Well I had my first off riding through Glencoe yesterday.

It was stupid to even attempt it as the wind was so strong. Outside the ski place on the A82, very exposed bit of road, it just pushed me sideways, then pushed me a bit more then pushed me right off the road. I then somehow fell back on to the road as I was trying to hold it together.

I am fine, just little aches all over. Helmet took an almighty thump off the ground, most kit has tears in it though nothing right through and no cuts.

First thing I said when I opened my eyes was "is my bike ok" to which someone replied "no it's in 5000 bits". I'm hoping it was mostly superficial although I remember seeing the gear level and 1 foot rest completely off

Police, ambulance and fire brigade were on the scene within 10mins as they were half a mile up the road helping a campervan that had overturned!

Cherry on the cake, on the way from the Kings House Hotel back to Fort William in a tow truck, a caravan in front of us just blew right off the road. An amazing sight, the link with the car broke so they were ok. Caravan just fell to pieces though

glad i took the car yesterday as even that was getting blown about silly.

Balls/no sense same difference! I'm aching all over today. Got a huge bruise on my backside, that may not have been from the accident though

I set off from Loch Ness and it was totally fine, should have stopped in Fort William as it was increasingly bad.

Bike was picked up by the insurers today, so waiting to see what they say now

Why oh why didn't I check the forecast. Lesson learned

As long as your ok that's the main thing bikes easier to mend than bodies

Glad you're ok man. I remember getting blown about like a crisp poke in pretty high winds last year terrified I wouldn't make it home.
