Default where best palce to get bike looked at

hi iv had my sv 650s curvie since jan and passed my test 8 weks ago im useing my bike every day from peterhead to aberdeen , it seems to run ok , but i would love some one to look over it and check the bike for me and to let me know if there is any thing that needs done , its a 1999 model , and i dont no if valves have been done , and dont know how todo it , iv done an oil change and new filter in it but thats my limit at the mow , so if any one is willing to check it for me and may be take it a run and give me a feed back i would be very greatfull i can take the bike to you any day and time to suit you , just be good to know bike is ok and safe

would you not be better getting the bike inot a dealer/ garage for them to do a check? i know it may be expensive but you have a lot more come back to a garage than getting a "mate" to check and see if it feels like it runs ok or not, IMO obviously

Shirlaws Aberdeen are the local Suzuki garage, but...

Braeking point, breakers but they were ok to do a service on my bike, only to realise they don't have the tools to check (or adjust) the SV valves after a while.

Other than that, you could ring Ecosse motorcycles, they are Honda/Yamaha but have numerous bikes, might be worth a call.

And there's rumours about a new service centre opening in the arches on south college street, but that's a few weeks away.

only one problem with that is he is 100 miles away and unless i go for a wee bimble up to sheep shaggin country then he will have to wait.

Or Cameron's auto tec, aka Roy's at cummingstone! He is fantastic, my tl passed mot with stubby microns, and if you need work I can't complain at his prices either!

hi thanks for that , iv tryed a place in ellon , waiting for him to get back to me , found that most places around aberdeen , ie shirlaws , are well over the odds with price , , just thought some one may have a basic understanding of thesv and could show me a few things to do , iv looked into college macanics but not a thing here , thanks any way for all your advise

hi at last found a local lad who has set up himself who has worked for years on bikes , he does track raceing bikes , also got refrences of people bikes he has done , hes going todo a full service of bike balance carbs , change fork oil , set bike up for my weight , for £150 so think thats good , booked in for next week , thanks all for your help
