Default Pegaso indicators... interesting.

on reading the manual for the Pegaso I came across something it did which I thought was quiet good, it has five led's in each indicator pod and will display on the dash if a single one blows, but the other four will continue to function, quite neat I though but was a little buffled how that would work without loads of individual circuits?

then I found what I thought was a problem, I was leading another bike and slowed down so as they would see me take a turning, I was going at perhaps 10-15mph with my left indicator going, after a time it turned off, next time I actually stopped and the indicator stayed on for the minute or two I was stationary and only turned off once I cancelled it around the corner, then it done the turning off again.

I mentally figured something was a bit amiss there and I'd have to find some time to look into fixing it, however I finally got around to reading the bikes user manual, the bike has a smart dash, it does many gucci things like programable shift light, lap timer, couple of trips and timers, diagnostics that kind of thing, it also senses the power use of each indicator and will know when one led isn't taking any, also I found it has a logic circuit for the indicators operation, it will cancel the indicator if the vehicle is moving after 40 seconds or 500 mtrs, I've seen systems like this before, but didn't expect it on what is a seven year old budget bike.

Cheers Mark.

Suzuki (and others) could learn a great deal from this!

yeah I know the old GT550 and 750 had them ( and I think an old 450 I seem to remember), worked through a relay box, not nearly as sophisticated a system though.

Worked very well, not moving they stay on, moving they run for a differing amount of time/distance depending on speed.
Whoever worked out the details did a damn good job - they were almost always on for the right amount of time.
