Default Anyone here keep tropical fish?

As above really just curious to see if anyone else keeps them.

What do you keep and what equipment do you have?

I have a 4ft Rena Aqualife 275L Tank running 2x Fluval 304 filters this is our main 'community' tank and houses:

Angelfish
Guppies
Platys
Amano Shrimp
Wood Shrimp
Cardinal Tetras
Glowlight Tetras
Bristlenose Plec
Albino Bristlenose plec
Clown plec
Red Tailed Shark
Rainbow Shark
Five Banded Barb

I also have a 20L tank housing a red male Betta and 3x Amano Shrimp

The 275L is soon to be upgraded to a 4ft 330L tank with built in hood filtration and T5 lighting, will also upgrade my 304's as they are getting a bit long in the tooth, this won't be until Christmas time though.

I do. Have kept and bred various fish for years and years, winning competitions with some!

I have a 95L setup with 2 plecs, 12 mollies, various tetra's (redline tetras, emperor tetra's) and a scissor tail.

Currently battling a white spot outbreak, but getting there now.

Just the one 3ft tank at the moment, always specialised in South American Catfish, Hoplosternum, Dianema's etc.
Had at one time 5 tanks including a set up for shovel nosed catfish (Sorubim lima), brilliant fun feeding them goldfish! They could move from one end to the other of a 5ft set up faster than you could see! All you heard was the bump as they hit the far end and the goldfish was gone!! LOL (pal of mine had a aquarium shop and used to sell me goldfish at 10 for a £1)

Did years ago, bred some Cichlids, but gave up when they died. Would love another one, but end up spending all of my spare cash on bikes, mortgages & the like

My angelfish are constantly spawning but the eggs normally get eaten.

Fenjer are u a member on the TFF UK forum. There is some who uses the same username. My current tank looks a bit rubbish at the mo but im loathed to spend money on plants etc if i am replacing it in 5 months as plants dnt do so well in my current tank due to the poor T8 lighting.

Two tanks - both freshwater tropical.

Downstairs - 260L 4 foot Juwel Bow-Front

4 5-6inch clown loaches
2 Golden Nugget plecs
2 Madagascar Rainbows
1 Red tailed shark
apx 10 tetra, mix of serpae & red eyed
3 (ish) kuhli loaches, there may be more...

upstairs (in my office...)

125L Juwel Rio tank

2 bosemani rainbows
5 praecox (dwarf neon) rainbows
1 bulldog plec
3 upside down catfish
1 flying fox
1 kuhli loach

Both tanks have the Juwel built in filter plus an external filter with UV steriliser. Upstairs tank has real plants, downstairs has plastic ones as the clown loaches shred real ones in minutes.

Both are far better viewing than TV except when bike racing is on. They're also great for distracting small children....

Ah the Juwel internal black box of doom. Never seen much need for UV seems an unessecary expense. Mind u the new filter i am looking at has it built in.

- never had a problem with it from a filtration point of view. I've had to replace a pump, but I've had the bow-front about 7 years...

UV - if you're looking at the allpondsolutions filter with built in UV, they're not small.... quite well designed, but some of the ancilliary parts look a little flimsy. Seems to work well though...
