Like it.
The worst ones are the SMS PPI/accident claim spam, cos you can't reply to them as it validates the telephone number in their database. I just add the number to a contact on my phone called "Some morons". It has 46 telephone numbers so far :/

Brilliant! I'm currently getting 6 a day, be it recorded or human. Amongst other hang ups or far away call centres. I'm in the phone thingy for none of those calls but they're getting rediculius. Now I get my mobile called for grants to insulate my home....wtf how the hell they got that I don't know!!

It's a pain as we get at least 5 a day at work, along with "can I speak to the owner...." or the person who deals with phones/gas/leccy etc. Makes you want to scream!

I never get calls. Perhaps because I don't answer the phone. It is there for me to make calls not receive them.
Although I do get texts telling me how much I am entitled to for the accident I haven't had. I don't trust them as if I haven 't had the accident yet so how do they know how bad my injuries are? I did reply back to one. But he denied anything to do with it when I asked him how he was going to arrange my accident and would it hurt.

I get loads, 2 within 1 minute yesterday. I replied I had found the front door open and was burglaring the house, they asked if the owner would back within the hour and I said it was pointless calling back as I was about to nick the phone. I asked them not to tell anyone as I could be in trouble if caught, she apologised and hung up. I am struggling now to think of something else to say to them when they call.

I work in the legal department for a PPI insurance company - those guys drove us bloody nuts. You'd be amazed how gullible some people are. They get these calls or texts saying they can claim thousands of pounds for missold PPI and they just go "Oh, wow, okay, what do you need me to do?".
Fair enough, if they actually were missold PPI, then fine, they deserve the money (although pushy complaint management companies deserve none of the payout, but that's another story). However, we get so many fudging complaints from people who don't even have an insurance policy. They just complain because a complaint management company basically told them they could get free money. Hell, some of the misselling complaints we get are from people who have made successful claims on their policy for thousands of pounds to begin with and knew what they had signed up for. Utter, utter stupidity and greed. |
