Need some new boots and just weighing up my options - will a higher profile front allow me to use that last 15mm of my rear tyre? I'm down to the pointy bits of the pirelli trident logo on the front but can't seem to scrub the rear fully. Guess the taller front would make it more tippy too...

It's more likely your riding style or condition of your shock would make the difference (I have slightly wider strips on the front than rear using standard tyre sizes).
It's a personal preference kind of thing, I prefer, generally the 120/60. Others prefer the 120/70, by all means throw one on and see if it suits you. What I would say is whatever tyres and sizes you put on will feel way better than the current rubber if that's worn, so try not to feel that any improvement is solely down to the profile change ![]() Jambo

70 will help to make the shortcomings of oem suspension seem less. Also helps with stability.

I fitted the 120/70 as that's all what was in stock. It's brilliant, don't regret it one bit!

Jambo, I'm sure as my rear is pretty squared off & my rear shock is about 9/10 bouncy castle and my cornering style reflects that, you've hit the nail on the head
![]() Speedyandy, when you say it makes it more stable, how do you mean? Less wiggle braking into a corner, or less tank-slappy on fast bumpy straights, something like that? Thanks for the reassurance too scythe!! Gonna give it a bash methinks... |

Sort the suspension .
Then you can use the tyres properly and they will last longer .

In the pipeline - saving for a shiny new rear unit at the moment! Was going to put in the zx6r one I bought off fleabay but I want to rebuild it, weighing up the zx6r rebuild vs. the 2-way adjustable hagon / nitron unit at the moment.

Nitron ?
The front is cheaper to fettle tank goodness.

Yeah some of the ladies & gents have mentioned nitron making a decent rear shock... I already went to town on the front with debrix, proper oil and homebrew preload spacers, though I do need some stiffer springs at some point too. Oh and some adjuster caps from a K2. And a million other things
