I start my SV, turn choke off and let it idle. All is well and good, the rpm is around 1250. After a short ride, it jumps to about 2500!
This happens repeatedly, I can only assume the cable is twisting as I adjust it and springing back mid ride (vibes?). Anyone experienced a similar issue?? 99 Curvy (carbs) |

Adjust your idle speed when the bike is warm.
On cold start (I never use choke, haven't needed it) my idle speed is 900-1000rpm. I then stick helmet and gloves on and head off within 20-30 seconds. When the engine is warm my idle speed is 1500, I found my bike idled a bit rough any lower than that and many people on here recommend around 1500. |

Have a search on here for choke plungers and make sure they are free. The curvy will not run properly unless they are.
