Fitting roxter heated grips, socket & bibios fuse box.

After much cutting down, filing to get them on heres how they look No quite wired up yet but i need to test they work first.



The grips themselves, do i HAVE to use superglue? Im a bit apprehensive to use it in case i ever want to remove them. With it being a k3 parts are a bit on the hens teeth side.

I used hairspray to fit my grips. can also use grip glue etc. Wouldnt use superglue as if you ever want to take them off you will probs rip the rubber.

I hummed and hawed about using superglue for the same reasons but ended up just using it. I figured if i needed to remove the grips it would probably be because the were broken so it wouldn't matter if they had to be butchered to get them off. I guess any residue left behind could be sanded off or something.

By the way, my roxters also needed a hell of a lot of cutting and grinding to get them to fit.

Yeah the roxters dont fit that great out the box. Id like to know if the renthal glue will stand up to the heat without perishing.

Any pics of what way youve positioned them? For the cable coming out and not hitting anything?

Haven't got anything just now but if I remember I'll try and stick something up. I think I spent a bit of time experimenting to check I could get full lock etc without hitting anything... but of course that involved getting enough free play that you could get them on and off again... by which time they need superglue to fix them on!

...although the general idea looks pretty much like it does in your photo.

I didn't bother with the mounting plate for the controller and just attached it direct to the yoke, the cables are cable tied to some of the other cables (brake, throttle etc) just to keep things tidy (if you do this just check you nothing pulls when the bars are turned), and I've a feeling I may have a small bundle of excess cabling that is taped or cable tied and sort of tucked into the fairing.

What needs grinding exactly, i have these on my bike from the previous owner, was just wondering

The plastic tube inside them needs filed down 1mill or so to fit the bars and the bars themselves i had to sand down a little. The throttle side roxter grip end had to have the butt cut off or else the bar end squashes against it making the throttle get stuck.

Oh i was expecting the bars to have to be cut down or something thats good news
