Default Films that, at least for you, don't live up to the hype.

I'll start this off.

I'm sat watching The Exorcist on ITV4, 1 1/2 hours in and it's still not got going, virtually nothing has happened. I know it's nearly 40 years old but how this was banned and lauded is beyond me!

I agree with the exorcist. Same about clockwork orange they should have remained banned for the sole reason of being boring!

Recently I watched all of the LOTR films. Thought they were okay but not as brilliant as everyone makes out.

You should ignore the hype. The hype always either comes form media who need to sell papers etc. or friends who need to grow a brain. How many times has your intellectual mate told you to go and watch a film? Rarely, I bet. It's always your drunk mate at the pub who can be amused by a little squeaking fart or a 'your mum' joke. Really doesn't take much to impress that sort of person!

I find most films underwhelming, but I don't listen to any hype, so am not normally disappointed. I agree about the Exorcist, but all old films a pretty whack by today's standards. All their ideas have been stolen and reused a hundred times by more modern films so they can't compete on an even footing. When I watch old films, I try to adopt the mindset of the time, so I can at least appreciate the ground breaking ideas/effects etc.

Alternatively, I just watch porn. That never gets old, unless you click the GrannyLoving category.

Puss in Boots in 3D. Turns out it's a kids film. I was expecting lesbian shoe fetish porn.

haha - made me giggle.

In truth I can't remember the last film that was decent. Recent years have seen the production mentality and just churning out dross for the sake of keeping the turnstiles spinning...

The last spiderman. Normally a big fan of the comic book films, but this one was tedious. (and he doesn't shot his own web, its some device wtf?!?)
