Hi,
I am looking to replace (in the front) and augment (in the back) the turn signals on my '05. The bodywork is standard (and I don't think I'm going to get a tail tidy) and I have integrated signals with the stop lights on the back (no MOT in Yankland) but I wanted to add to it. This might be in addition to putting amber bulbs in the headlight fronts. I don't want to break the bank (30 euro per is out) but I don't want to go full cheap. Recommendations? What model gixxer signals are compatible? (i.e. for Hotbodies) Pics? Thanks Cheers Lou |

Hi Lou
you will need a relay designed for LED indicators as well if you are going to fit them. you can use resistors but they are not that reliable. you will also need blanking adaptors to fit into the OEM holes so you can fit the new indicators after which it's pretty much which LED indicators you like the look of. |

This thread has some useful info and links for the bits that bibio mentions above.

You can actually by a 7 pin solid state relay for LED indicators that plugs straight into the Suzuki socket. You just have to hunt around for a supplier. They were around £12 a year or two back.

I've just bought http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251148063030 I'm going through bulbs like mad for some reason, nearly as cheap as a couple of bulbs and most likely crap, but hopefully will last a little while.
I can't do right arm signalling, soon as I let go of the throttle the bike slows down too much. |

One of these days I'm gonna buy and fit some mirrors from the ZX10 that have integrated indy's on the arms. 08-09 model.
Unfortunately, they are a bit expensive on ebay right now but that might change.

Great info, thanks.
Will the new flashers work with mixed systems or do they have to be all LEDs? How do they work? Are they solid-state inside? Some 555 with an SCR maybe? Cheers Lou |

Mixed. I was running 3 led's and a bulb, then it looked too weird so changed it to two bulbs and 2 LEDs. Worked fine and I am using the Bike It led relay. Would presume they are the same.
