Got a Scottoiler kit donated by a neighbor about a couple years ago, so heading into the rainy season decided to install it. First, got a set of Bolland rear axle plates and fitted those.

I installed the reservoir on the left side of the under-seat, to avoid conflicts with the storage for the tank prop. Added a small bracket to double-duty the mounting bolt on the sub-frame in front of the seat lock bridge:

To mount the delivery pipe I made a piece from ABS. I molded it with a heat gun, using a piece of aluminum pipe of adequate diameter.
I added a small piece of metal with a hole to spread the load when clamping the delivery pipe: All fabricated and drilled, with the bolt provided with the rear axle plates, and appropriate washers: Mounting bracket, another view: Mounting bracket, the other side: Mounting bracket attached to rear axle plate mounting tab: Mounting bracket fitted (rear view): Last edited by bellisan; 25-11-12 at 03:52 AM. |

And finally with the delivery pipe installed:
Front view: And a wider view: You can see the temporary zip ties I used. You can also see the clip master link. I use riveted, but have not had to chain the chain since I got it. Last edited by bellisan; 25-11-12 at 06:37 AM. |

To prolong the life of a chain you should clean the dirt and grit off as it will create a paste and rub through the O-Rings. I wasn't on about the bike itself as I agree there is not point cleaning that in the current weather.

To replace the zip ties I drilled into the swingarm (gasp!) and tapped for 5Mx.8 socket bolts.
The rear support is a little bigger since the feed pipe is thicker: The front is a little smaller, just behind the rubber guard: Side view: And rear-looking view: For rising towards the reservoir I used the extra mounting holes for the rearsets. But those holes are 6Mx1 which are too big for the mounting bits I'm using, so I made some adapters. I got some 6Mx1 socket bolts, and made a jig for holding them in my drill press, just a scrap of flat metal stock drilled and tapped. Then I drilled and tapped the 6Mx1 bolts for 5Mx.8. Anal? Nahhhh Installed the socket bolts from the outside and the tubing fixtures from the inside. You can see the 5Mx.8 bolt in the center of the adapter, and the tubing and the tubing fixture itself through the other rearset mounting holes: |

Well documented.
The Scottoiler installtion guide suggests that the reservoir is kept as vertical as possible. I see you have yours horizontal. Is it working ok in that position? On another note I see your chain has a split link in it. The SV should have an endless chain or have a rivet link in it. |
