Default Replacement speedo recording too fast.

Hi everyone. I've done a bit of searching on the org and still can't find an answer.

I have a k4 and my speedo sensor disintergrated, I bought a used one that came off a k6 and I've fitted it fine. However now it is recording my speed at a ridiculous rate for example saying I'm going 60mph when I'm going 10.

Any help would be appreciated, as I don't have any ideas on how to fit it differently/ tweak it.

Cheers,
Tom

You need an earlier one.

Early bikes have 4 pulse/rev later have 8 pulse/rev
