Default Young Drivers Act

Can someone please explain the young drivers act for me please as I havent got any points at the moment but ill be unrestricted in april on my bike licence but my car licence is two years in november.

If i was to get 6 points on my full bike licence would I therefore forfeit my driving licence or does this only apply to your First test??

Not saying I want to get 6 points im just asking to clarify?

Only applies to your first test.

You only have one license, not a bike license and drivers license. You obtained your license 2 years ago in april with an A2 endorsement. You subsequently put a B and B1 endorsement on it in November 2 years ago, but the 6 points thing rolls up to 12 in April when you have had your license for 2 years.

I just wanted it in black and white because I read the .gov website and It said for your first test so I wasn't sure whether that ment first bike test and first car test etc...

from the link:

"If you’ve held a full driving licence for 2 years, the rules no longer apply. There isn’t another 2 year period if you pass a test for another category of vehicle."

And no offence to clunk but in these sorts of things it's always best from the government direct. Too easy for stuff to be misunderstood.

Cue the discussion on what constitutes a full license! I know what most of us consider to be a full license (i.e. the time you get the pink photocard license rather than the green provisional), but the insurance companies seem to have a different definition.

(I'm just stirring really).

well thats the legal definition.

Everything else is just adding a new category. The insurance companies merely word the question they are asking incorrectly.
