Planning to head there for bastille weekend, fireworks etc as it combines with the GF's 30th.
Does anyone have experience of a nice hotel in Paris, it doesn't have to be super luxurious, but I'd like some character and to not cost the earth. Any ideas? And not a Formule 1 ![]() |

I go to Paris a fair bit on business and the place is sooooo expensive. When I took my Wife there for a long weekend we got an apartment as it made it so much more cost effective, for us at least it was the better option.
Here's the chain we used. http://www.myapartmentparis.com/ |

when i travel through france, if doing an overnight stop will usually use a company called 'Logis'. they're a chain of individuals basically, they have to reach a certain standard to be accepted into the group. they aren't expensive and the rooms can be on the basic side but the food is usually very good indeed. might be worth checking their website out to see if there's something to suit you (i'm no good at putting links in, but if you just put Logis into google they'll come up).

If you want nice and central the places I have used quite a few times are :-Floride Etoile on Rue St Didier and Hotel victor Hugo on rue coppernic. Both are are located between Etoile (Arc De Triomphe) and Trocadero so convienient for the tour Eiffel, champse Elysee, the Seine etc. Best money saving advice, Assuming you are flying to CDG, grab the air france bus from the airport to Etoile.

Dunno if this is too much
http://hotel-langlois.com/en/home.html Almost as Parisian as poodle poo on each corner. Few mins from underground station, good cafe on corner of the street. Stayed there in 2007 for a weekend, am sure it was cheaper then! |
