ok so im stupid , got to work with bike this morning , fist time since november , bike gleeming , smelt smoke , pulled in to garage , noticed i had not put back on oil filler cap after filling bike with oil . not so gleeming bike now , any way , is this a standard cap , as i dont know if id get one for the sv650s from brakers , sure mine will be sitting in shed , will any make do , got 62 miles to get home , then to clean bike again , any one know what size it is thanks

First check engine oil level.How much have you lost and how far have you ridden with too little oil in it?Then top it up and find a bung to block the hole before riding it.Dont ride it with oil blowing out as this will risk destroying the engine,not to mention the risk of oil getting on the back tyre-------

hi yea , will need to top oil up , have checked it , there is a wee bit in there , just trying to find out if the caps are all the same size on most bikes
