Very hard compound tyre, will last forever but doesn't give that planted feel.
Good tires tho. |

Pilot road 2 or 3 are a good compromise.

They were the original fitment to the SV1000 in the UK.
Now replaced by the Pilot Road 2, and 3. Single compound road tyre, "better option" depends on what exactly you want? Jambo

The RSV wears the edges of the Corsa 3's . Every one raves about CT2's.But for my riding having a hard cental part make no real sense as I don't tour or commute in the conventional sense.

I've been using Pilot Road for the last couple of sets of tyres and I like them. Dunno about lasting for ever though - I usually lucky to see 5000 miles out of the rear....

My tyres never see that much life, but track riding is track riding. Bike: Curvy, stock forks and shock, heavier oil in forks. The 3 last tyres I've tried or gone trough is Pilot Power 2ct(120/60 & 160/60), heat cycles went over limit, blue shine on sides and thread below legal limit ![]() Power Pure(120/70 & 160/60) went on next, very happy with them, quick heat up time, feels more planted and gave much more stability going over bumps during deep lean angles, gave the confidence to lean even further. They came of before their end of life because I did a race with the SV. Power One(120/70 & 160/70) as expected feels even more planted, confidence went up again, getting on the gas so early the rear squirms on exit, but never felt over the limit. It drops a bit quicker into corners, a few laps and your used to that. Getting on the gas early out off a chicane the SV was a bit wobbly with the pure, with the ones it was stabil and planted. |
