Somehow, I think the attempted growl is what makes the stunt so effective. There's some primitive memory lodged in our brains that tells us things that growl want to hurt (eat) us and so when the brain hears a growl it gets the flight reflex ready... you then add an unexpected visual stimulous and bingo! full fledged panic and some excellent footage!
Something more "human" such as, "Excuse me, could you direct me to the nearest hospital" probably wouldn't get such good reactions. Would be fun to sort out a copy of this for trick or treating....... |
