I've noticed lately around the St. Andrews area that there are a lot of little 125's with L plates.
Nice to see so many new bikers around.

yup i agree. seems that the youngsters are getting bikes as they cant afford a car. good or bad is another debate but it might just give them a respect for bikers when they get older and get a car. or its the next chav accessory.

Saw a couple of 125's out and about Sunday, gave them a wee wave or nod, make them feel respected and hopefully they will move up to big bikes and support a much needed industry of dealers etc.
Can feel a bit demorallising getting passed by 16 big bikes so a wee wave costs nothing as you pass - not scooters tho'

I still nod to scooterists on "L" plates. They could be 16 year olds who get a scooter just to get on two wheels.

Was nice when I was on my 125 to get "the nod", felt good to be acknowledged. Our mutual respect for each other is what sets us apart from the big standard cage drivers.

Aye, as of yesterday I got my Mod 2 finally done so I'm off my 125 now but while I was on it getting nods from 'proper' bikers was encouraging and made me feel like part of a fraternity (to use an Americanism, urgh
![]() I gave up nodding at people on scooters though, got ignored far too much.
