Hi all
i am wondering about the possibilities of doing a projector light install on my k3 N and wanted to ask for advice on a few things: 1 am i likely to have problems regarding brightness at mot time (i want to be a lot brighter than stock light but not light up the whole of the midlands bright) 2 i would like to keep the stock light housing and have a single projector unit inside that (i know it can be done as i found a thread where someone did exactly this but his link does not work) so can anyone recommend where to get a good pro unit that not Chinese tatt 3 i understand you need a ballast unit but as im not tip top on electrics what does it do and any ideas on where i would put it as i have minimal bodywork being a naked bike Any advice/views will be greatly appreciated Craig |

As far as I can see, you have two avenues here either a Bi-xenon HID installation in the standard headlight (basically a bulb swap with a HID bulb & ballast unit, one element and a movable shield for hign & low beam), this requires no modification to the headlight itself, but you don't get the projector element, depending on the standard reflector this can be very effective, or could bounce the light all over the place.
the second is to fit a projector housing (leaving you the option to use either standard H4 bulbs or HID variants), I've a RISOMA fairing fitted to an S3; it has two single element projectors made by Acura, not cheap but good quality, I've not fitted one to a 7" round headlight body, but shouldn't be to hard. ![]() Cheers Mark

Thanks for the input guys, I'll more than likely be going down the second route if i can source all the parts and get it figured out.
How bright do yours come up because I'll obviously only be using the 1 projector and i need to know if it will still be adequate. The link that Jason has posted is the one i found that gave me the idea of putting it in the standard light unit so i know it is possible, just a case of getting the parts and working out the method. I bought a headlight from the forum a couple of weeks ago with the projector mod already done. I had to find a housing for it, thats almost done so I will fit it to the bike this weekend. I'll let you know how bright it is, and I have an MOT to do so I can let you know about that too.
