Replaced the battery on my sv's meta alarm key remote today and now it won't work, The red light on the fob is flashing but i have test the fob and its not sending out any signal. Is there anyway i can programme it, seems strange that the fob is'nt sending out any signal. I have no second fob and no card with a key code.

My bike and I are currently sitting on a tow truck cos of a similar issue!!!
I accidentally turned on the parking light when I parked the bike at work yesterday so the battery was flat when I got to the bike. Had to get AA to start the bike off a battery pack. I rode 50+ miles back home and another 50+ miles back to work this morning and the alarm fob worked without issue last night and this morning; however after getting off work this evening, I couldn't get the fob to disarm the alarm. The light on the fob comes on each time I press it but the alarm isn't responding. I think it's time I removed this alarm!!!!! |

Hey Dazza,
I went through the docs I got when I bought my bike and found the Datatool installation certificate and the user manual; mine is a Datatool Veto Evo installed in 2000. The certificate gave specific details about where the fuse, alarm, siren, trigger switch and wires were installed. The user guide gave specific troubleshooting steps to follow if the alarm doesn't disarm: - check alarm fuse - check you're within range (10m max) - check ignition is in OFF position - check transmitter battery - check that the transmitter signal is correctly aligned with the control unit by pressing the O and Triangle buttons simultaneously for 5 secs I jumped in the car and headed to the dealer where the recovery truck dropped the bike and asked them for the keys.........I jumped straight to the fifth step and the alarm responded!!! So looks like I'm all sorted! I need to get back there to pick the bike later today so my planned trip to Wales tomorrow is back on course!!! Cheers. |

Hey, yh i went to the alarm shop today and he said to try that or try holding the buttons in for 30 seconds so gonna give that a go. If not then i can buy a new unit which will plug straight in for my old one which will save re wiring but its £150 for a new one from them or about £90 off ebay. Gonna have a play at the weekend and see if i can fix it but if not then im gonna have to part with some cash
![]() Glad you got yours working and enjoy your trip ![]() |

aint got it working yet but it was only running on one cylinder since removing alarm unit and had to trace wiring back and remove the coil wire from alarm wiring but it only affected the rear cylinder not both which i found very strange, but atleast i can use it for now
