Default Rim tape removal. Nightmare?

I pick up a new (to me) bike tomorrow. It's got rim tape on it which personally I hate. I've never had it before and I'll be wanting to remove it. Question is will it be a pain to get of and come away in annoyingly small pieces leaving me with no fingernails? Or will it come off easy in one long nice strip?
If its gonna be a ball ache I'd consider leaving it alone.
Thoughts? Cheers, Dan.

i took some old rim tape that was on the bike I bought quite easily. It was after market as opposed to factory so came off like string. Slow and steady I guess.

My GSX-R750 had red rim tape on when I bought it. Less than 20 minutes with a hairdryer and it was gone. Heat is the key to getting it off with ease I found After it had been warmed up each piece simply peeled off in one go, no scraping of fingernails to get small pieces off etc. Then just washed/cleaned up the wheels to remove any left over sticky residue.

This is the tape that came off...

As the man above said, a hairdryer or heat gun is the way to go and peeling it off real slow

You should've said, "I'll buy it if you take the rim tape off", and let the seller do it
