Which regulator/rectifier? Curvy.
Hi, I need a Regulator Rectifier for my 2000 Curvy. I bought it as a project, it hasnt got one....
Do you think Im best buying http://www.electrexworld.co.uk/acatalog/RR85.html as it has all the connectors, is a MOSFET one, which according to the forums is what I need to look out for, but is £90, I know theres cheaper alternatives out there, but bearing in mind I dont have the old connectors to solder on, is that more trouble than its worth? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give! |

Hi there! I don't know about the quality of that r85 unit, maybe someone else has fitted one? The Shindengen MOSFET r/r units which (I believe) are the stock Yamaha parts are the ones that everyone is raving about; but either which way any MOSFET r/r should last longer / give a more stable output than the crappy shunted SCR derivatives. Check out the Shindengen FH020AA.

A used GSXR unit could be a cheaper option

I've used Electrex World stuff several times before and I have nothing but praise for both the quality of the products and the level of customer service.
