Default Pointy headlight lens replacement?

I've managed to put a deep scratch across the headlight lens of my pointy. It looks like it can be unclipped from the headlight unit - can it? With a view to just replacing the lens rather than the entire headlight unit. I cant find replacement lenses anywhere so part of me suspects i'd have to replace the entire unit

Many thanks

Will

i would live with it unless its an MOT fail (which i dont think it is) then i would buff it out.

the unit is sold as a whole, so your only chance is to find one at a breakers or something like that, the lens can be removed by heating the whole thing in an oven to soften the black silicon used to glue the two parts together, if I remember right about 200 degree for 5-6 minute then gentle prize apart (stick it back in if it cools too much, rather than force it).

heheheheeee. i tried that and it resulted in a molten mess

i found the best thing was a hot air gun slowly along the joint and a careful prising apart worked better.

yeah it's true, only a couple of minutes between a collapsed mess and a unit that comes apart easily, fortunately I had a busted unit to practice with, a heat gun will work but takes a bit more time.
